POLICE are continuing to investigate a high-value burglary from an equestrain centre where £50,000 worth of items were stolen.

The burglary occurred at some point between 11pm on June 12 and 8am on June 13 at Bigland Hall Equestrian Centre, near Haverthwiate.

The majority of the items stolen are large quantities of saddles and riding tack. All of the Balance dressage saddles have been stamped and are identifiable.

Detective Constable Mark Kerley said: “The offenders have targeted the Equestrian Centre knowing that it holds expensive equipment which could be sold on.

"I would like to appeal to anyone who is offered expensive equestrian equipment at suspiciously lower prices to its value to get in touch.

"Handling stolen goods is also an offence, please make sure that if you are buying such equipment that it is from a legitimate source."
