The National Trails of England, Scotland and Wales by Paddy Dillon, £18.95

RENOWNED Milnthorpe-based outdoor guide publisher Cicerone has released its travel catalogue of pending autumn publications - and a key one to watch out for when it hits the bookshelves in September is a guide to Britain's 19 national trails.

The book offers stage-by-stage overviews for every official long-distance walk in England, Scotland and Wales, including those iconic trails passing through these parts, the Pennine Way and the Coast-to-Coast.

The guide will be a great aid to planning and preparing for a long-distance walk and author Paddy Dillon also provides background information on the evolution of the national trails network.

Other British walking guides being published by Cicerone in the coming months include Walking on Harris and Lewis by Richard Barrett (August, £12.95); Walking the Cape Wrath Trail (September, £14.95); Walking Hadrian's Wall Path by Mark Richards (September, £14.95).Walking in Carmarthenshire by Jim Ruberry (October, £12.95); and Walking on the Gower by Andrew Davies (October, £12.95).

Cicerone does not just focus on UK walks and its autumn catalogue reveals a number of international guides which are due to be published in the coming months.
