CUMBRIA Steam Gathering rolls on to Cark Airfield, at Flookburgh, this Saturday and Sunday, with new attractions for the 2015 event including the Red Dragon Monster Truck team who will be inviting visitors to take a ride in their vehicle, and for two wheel enthusiasts, the Inch Perfect Motorcycle Trials Team, will give two shows per day in the main arena. CLAPHAM'S annual Street Fair takes place this Saturday, July 25, between 9.30am-4pm. There will be a range of stalls and activities run by local community groups, this will include a children's tent and mini village fete run by the Parent's Forum of Clapham School. Once again there are 40 cars booked in for the classic car rally in the car park. The Cave Rescue Organisation will be running their Olympics including climbing wall and there will be various entertainment from Juke Box Junkies, the Oak Quintet and Crook Morris. MORE than 100 exhibitors from all over Europe and beyond - all passionate about working with clay - take centre stage in Potfest in the Park, from tomorrow (Friday), until Sunday (10am-5pm), at Hutton-in-the-Forest, near Penrith. One of Cumbria's leading cultural destinations with a walled garden, topiary terraces and woodland walks, the ceramics festival takes place in and around marquees in front of the castle, with the potters competition pieces on the lawn. This year's competition theme is Biblical.

A FOOD Hall with cooking demonstrations by local chefs is among the many attractions at this year's Ulverston and North Lonsdale Agricultural Show at the Recreation Hall Fields, Urswick, near Ulverston, on Wednesday, July 29. Barrow Vintage Motorcyle Club will stage a display of vintage motorcycles, the Jez Avery Stunt Show also features, plus the usual cattle and sheep classes, horses, rabbits, poultry, home industries, produce and horticulture.

BEETHAM Sports Day takes place on Saturday (July 25) with plenty of traditional family fun such as adults and children's races with cash prizes, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling, the famous fell race, donkey rides, homemade refreshments, umpteen side stalls and many other attractions. The sports open on Beetham Sports Field at 1pm followed by the fancy dress at 1.15pm.

ONE of the largest and most popular art exhibitions in the region runs from tonight (Thursday) until Saturday, 10am-7pm, and Sunday, 10am-3pm, at St Thomas' Church, Milnthorpe with nigh on 400 items on display. Organised by Milnthorpe Men's Forum, Milnthorpe Art Exhibition is a highly regarded fundraiser for good causes with this year's charitable recipients being Jigsaw (Cumbria's only Children's Hospice) and St Thomas' Church Restoration Fund.
