LOCAL antiquaries have stepped in to save the Castle Dairy, Kendal, which is 'doomed to disappear' for utilitarian reasons unless it is rescued by those with and eye for higher things.

MODERNISE Grayrigg School or it will perish a public inquiry at Kendal was told. The inquiry arose from Westmorland County Council's decision to acquire nearly an acre of land adjoing the school by compulsory purchase order. But the inquiry was also told, extend the school and the Grayrigg Agricultural Show will be jeopardised.
25 YEARS AGO
THE doors closed on Endmoor Primary School for the last time after 128 years. Past and present pupils congregated at the school for a final thanksgiving service. A new school is expected to be completed by August 20 at a cost of £1 million in time for the September term.
