PASSENGERS on the West Coast Main Line experienced delays this morning after a train struck a person at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
Rush-hour delays impacted train customers as far north as Manchester following the incident at 6.40am.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “The incident resulted in the temporary suspension of all passenger services, with knock-on delays felt further north in Birmingham, Stafford, Crewe, Manchester and Liverpool. Trains began moving slowly past the scene of the incident shortly before 8am.
“Emergency services and Network Rail staff, who arrived on site shortly before 7am, are now working to get things back to normal for customers as soon as possible.”
