A MOTORBIKER is in a critical condition after a collision on the M6, south of Junction 38 at Tebay.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service attended the scene at 12.30pm on Wednesday to find a 59-year-old woman from Edinburgh with life-threatening injuries.

The 59-year-old woman was treated by the GNAAS doctor and paramedic team and North West Ambulance Service. The GNAAS team administered blood to the woman at the scene before she was flown to the major trauma centre at Royal Preston Hospital.

The flight took 15 minutes and she was critical upon arrival.

The M6 remained closed between Junctions 36-39 for around two hours - although it laterre-opened.MORE TOP STORIES:
