LANCASTER made the perfect start to the 2007 3D Sports Northern League as they strolled to a seven-wicket win over Fleetwood at Lune Road.
Young Danny Milligan was the hero for the Bombers as he ripped through the Fleetwood batting line up to record the impressive opening day return of 5-20 off eight overs.
That was a real boost for Tim Barry's men, who have to make do without veteran bowler Graham Barnes this season after he announced his retirement.
Barry chipped in with two cheap wickets and Iain Burstow and young Liam Moffat also picked up a wicket each as Fleetwood were knocked over for 105 in 44 overs.
Lancaster set about that target with gusto and Jamie Heywood made a breezy 26 and substitute professional Anil Nazir 28 - but it was opener Michael Walling who stole the batting show as he carried his bat for 40 not out.
And that meant the Bombers coasted home with more than 26 overs to spare.
* LANCASTER seconds couldn't match the first team as they slumped to defeat at Broadwaters despite bowling Fleetwood out for 150. But the reply was a disaster and the Bombers were rolled over for 68.
