THIS weekend sees July come to a close and with it the kick-off of Cumbria's very own, ever-growing music festival - Kendal Calling.

Although the promise of great music and bucket-loads of activities will undoubtedly draw sell-out crowds to the 10th anniversary event, the weather forecast currently leaves a lot to be desired.

With temperatures more in tune with Autumn than August, many festival-goers may find themselves dreaming of sunnier locations and much drier conditions.

But this doesn’t mean you can’t channel some of the fashion highlights of earlier festivals including the likes of California's and the more recent Glastonbury.

And whether you're planning on heading along with a group to enjoy the chart-topping headline acts, or with the family in tow for the festival's multiple offerings, what to wear will undoubtedly be on your mind - again.

For those of you who have outfits planned, you may be in need of a last-minute adjustment to suit the gloomy forecast.

And for the disorganised among you, here is some inspiration to help you stay on trend against the grey.

Unsure how to keep the festival glam during what is set to be a wash-out?

Bring some sunshine into your festival look with a practical yet colourful rain mac.

New Look has a lovely pink flowery Brave Soul number for £39.99, which is certain to bring the cheer back into a wet weekend.

The flowery design is subtle and versatile - ideal over anything from a white sun dress to your trusty pair of favourite jeans.

And it will last you for the rest of the summer as well.

Practicality is the priority, so don't be left scratching your head over footwear.

Ditching your favourite sandals does not mean you have to scrimp on style, and Topshop’s sturdy Vincent ankle wellies are the perfect proof of this.

At £30 you can keep those feet dry while remaining fashionable - and you certainly won’t have to worry about your shoes being pulled off at the front of the crowds.
