A BODY washed up on a beach at Bardsea was that of a 39-year-old man from South Africa.
Cumbria Police were called to the beach at Bardsea, near Ulverston, at 9.15am on Sunday (August 2) after a member of the public found the body.
The death is not believed to be suspicious.
A police spokesman said it was believed the death was recent and the coroner would be informed.
Cumbria Police initially told the Westmorland Gazette the man was from Ulverston.
