FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze which engulfed three large fridges at a slaughterhouse in Ulverston yesterday morning (Friday).

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "At 09:28 firefighters were called to Dawn Duerden Slaughterhouse in Ulverston to a fire involving a fridge in a commercial unit.

"Three containers approximately three metres by 15 metres were alight on arrival of the crews who used one hose reel and a main jet to extinguish the fire.
