A Kendal team has reached the finish line in Russia after a five-week Mongol Rally adventure.
As reported last week, Paul Thomas and Alex Ramsey, decided to continue their journey, despite having to scrap their 18-year-old Nissan Micra, 'Roxanne', after it struck a rock and overturned on a road near Zharkent, in Kazakhstan.
The duo, who earlier in the journey were accompanied by James Nowell, of Kendal, set off from Cumbria on July 12 along with nearly 300 other teams competing in the arduous Mongol Rally.
The team - known as Marco Yolo - are raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the environmental charity Cool Earth.
Four days after the crash Paul and Alex caught a flight from Kazakhstan to Moscow, where they boarded the Trans-Siberian Express for a four-day journey across Russia to the Mongol Rally finish line at Ulan Ude.
They are pictured (left and right) with a member of another Mongol Rally team at Ulan Ude. Paul is holding Roxanne's registration plate.
People can still donate to the charities by visiting justgiving.com/MarcoYolo.
