Latest roadworks in the area
A six-week project has begun on the A590 at Lindal-in-Furness to repair the footpath, introduce a Toucan crossing and tackle carriageway flooding along the A590 around The Green. Off-peak lane closures will be needed, controlled by temporary traffic signals, between 9.30am-3.30pm. The work is due to be completed by Friday, September 4.
There is a speed restriction of 50 mph due to roadworks and contraflow on the A66 at Bowes between A67 and A685/B6276 New Road, until September 26.
Work should be completed before bank holiday weekend to install speed signs for a reduction in the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph along the A595 Mirehouse to Bigrigg road.
