A WOULD-BE thief was disturbed by the home-owner as he entered their bedroom during an attempted overnight raid on the property.
At 10.50pm yesterday (Saturday, August 29) a male with a Liverpool accent broke into the house, in Portinscale, Keswick, through the front door.
He made his way upstairs before being discovered by the occupant as he rummaged around the bedroom, say police.
The man is described as being in his late 40s, around five feet and seven inches tall, slightly tanned and he was wearing a distinctive brown leather flat cap.
No other person or vehicle was spotted at the scene, but police believe it is likely that others were involved.
Anybody with information on the incident is urged to contact Cumbria Police on 101 or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
