A FURNESS woman has clocked up half a century working as a PA to specialist nursing staff.
Ruth Hogg started her long career as a 17-year-old office junior in Barrow in 1965, supporting nurses in what was then called the NHS Local Health Department.
Five decades later, she’s still in Furness providing administration support to specialist nurses , specifically the respiratory and Macmillan nursing teams.
Ruth’s manager, Jane Tudor, support services lead at Cumbria Partnership NHS Trust, said: “Throughout her 50 year career Ruth has provided a valuable service to various teams and has seen many organisational changes within the NHS.
"I’ve never known anyone who has continually worked for us for so long. Ruth truly is one of our amazing people.”
