A BURST pipe caused serious flooding at a £6million housing complex built for disabled people.
'Every floor' was flooded at the Kirkland View, Kendal, according to a member of the fire crew called to the scene at 1pm yesterday (Tuesday, September 1).
"A joint on a water pipe on the top floor flooded the corridor," said a spokesperson for the fire service. "It had gone through the floor to the next floor and right down to the ground floor, flooding each corridor on every floor."
One fire engine attended and attempted to get as much water out of the building as possible before handing over to a team from Impact Housing, who manage the property.

Impact Housing are yet to comment on the incident, but the site cost around £6million to build in 2011/12 and consists of 12 two bedroom apartments, specially adapted for disabled users.
