PRINCE Charles will see the art of cheese making in the Yorkshire Dales at first hand when he visits The Wensleydale Creamery next week.

HRH Prince of Wales has announced a trip to the Hawes-based firm on Thursday where he will cast his eye over the firm's £5 million investment in its Creamery development.

David Hartley, managing director of the Wensleydale Creamery, will show the Royal, Patron of the Specialist Cheesemakers Association, around the new Creamery, where he will watch Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese being hand-crafted and also taste the range of cheese produced.

Mr Hartley said: “With a heritage that spans centuries and family roots that are firmly set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, we’re extremely proud to be where we are today and we’re thrilled to be welcoming HRH Prince of Wales on his visit to the Wensleydale Creamery.”
