Michael Casey (Letters, September 10, 'Path provides a safe route') is correct in saying safety for school children is a priority, but why if this is the case did the school not use the existing footpath between the sports hall and the tennis court, down the main road on a very wide pavement to Booths with no roads to cross, at very little cost. The pupils often run down this route.
Yes, a footpath could have been incorporated in the new build at the outset but who would want to buy a property with the prospect of hundreds of children passing their doors every school day?
