Border & Lakeland Club Autumn bull show & sale Annandale sets new Borderway record With the countryside enjoying some glorious autumn sunshine and most of the fieldwork completed for another season dairy farmers and breeders flocked to Borderway, Carlisle for the 2015 Annual Bull Sale hosted on behalf of the Border and Lakeland Holstein Club. The catalogue was packed with world class pedigrees from many of the UK’s leading herds. A new Borderway record price was achieved at 8,000gns with a 75% clearance for a £2800 average with a number of bulls selling well above five thousand.

The show was judged by internationally renowned judge Robert Butterfield owner of the prize winning Ingleview herd in Lancashire. His overall champion was Warnelview Parade consigned by the Wilson family from Wood Farm, Carlisle. He was a son of Musketeer and bred from three Excellent dams all with super components. The stylish young bull sold for 5,200gns to WJ Smith, Greentowers Farm, Lanark.

The Reserve Champion was consigned by the Wright family from Kendal who were still on cloud nine after their championship success at UK Dairy Day only a few weeks ago. Berryholme Atlas was sired by Atwood and bred from Berryholme Posh Flo, a full sister to the National Champion in 2010. The very stylish black bull sold for 6,000gns to an undisclosed buyer.
