Annual Autumn Show and Sale of Store Lambs An excellent number of just over 2000 Store Lambs forward met a brisk trade reaching well above expectations considering the fall in Prime Lamb trade. The show was very kindly judged by Mr L Armistead, Barrow who placed the awards as follows:- BEST PEN OF 10 STORE LAMBS 1st PJ&JB Wilson, Sandgate 2nd J Athersmith, Alps 3rd Knittleton Farm Trade was optimistic throughout the sale. With a crowded ringside of buyers top price was achieved of £65.50 for short keep Suffolks exhibited by R Allenby, Millom. Swaledales reached a high of £48 and Mules to a high of £56.

Prime Lambs A good number forward saw trade following the national trends. Top price was achieved by DJ Dickinson, Lane End for quality Charolais Lambs reaching a high of £79 being purchased by TW Brown, Lindal.

Prime Cattle A small entry forward saw an improvement in trade to that of the previous week. More are required to meet buyer demand. Top price on the day realised 219.50ppkg for a marvellously well fed Limousin Steer exhibited by W&MM Case & Sons, Plumpton cottage being purchased by N&S Rhodes Ltd Quality Butches of Barrow.

Cast Ewes & Rams This week saw a much improved number and trade to that of previous weeks.
