With reference to the annual cost of the proposed IDB in the Lyth Valley, some wild figures are being banded about by some South Lakeland district councillors. The estimated annual cost of £46,000 amounts to about £1 per D rated property - hardly a matter for further consultation - and is not likely to arise before 2018.
The amount does not mean a one per cent rise in Council Tax, only a one per cent rise in the SLDC element - a much smaller figure.
