THIEVES made-off with more than £400 worth of books after a daylight raid on Kendal's Waterstones store.
Police are appealing for information after 'a substantial number' of hardback books were stolen from display tables at the front of the shop on Stricklandgate.
The incident took place between 12.30pm and 1pm on Wednesday, October 7, and saw £420 worth of stock taken.

Anybody with information on the incident is urged to contact Cumbria Police on 101 and speak to officer 2280 Smith or, alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
