A DOTING mother has won football kits for her son's team after entering a competition on the back of an Asda ready meal.

Beverly Whitby, whose son plays in goal for Ormsgill FC, was sick and tired of seeing her boy's team play in mismatching shorts and 'ancient' shirts.

After buying a Hungry Joe's ready meal Beverly ensured her son's side was the one team in the country to become sponsored by the food company.

She said: "I entered Hungry Joe’s competition to support my 20-year-old son, who is goalie for Ormsgill football club and has an autistic spectrum disorder.

"Before I won the kits they didn’t have matching shorts and the shirts were ancient, we really appreciate Hungry Joe’s support for a grass roots team so desperately in need."
