DRIVERS are being advised the southbound M6 will be closed between junction 34 at Lancaster and junction 33 at Galgate tonight for work to complete bridge repairs.

Highways England has been delivering £160,000 of repairs on the motorway bridge over the Stoney Lane local road.  This will be completed next week but work to remove traffic management over the bridge on the southbound carriageway will take place from 8pm tonight with the motorway closed between then and 6am tomorrow morning (Tuesday 13 October).

A diversion will be in place with drivers taken off the southbound M6 at junction 34 sent west along the A683 towards Lancaster and then onto the southbound A6 to Galgate and junction 33.

Drivers should leave extra time to complete journeys.  Anyone setting out can check travel conditions before setting out on journeys.
