YOUNG footballers from Craven Wanderers have helped boost a life-saving campaign involving households and businesses in a Dales community.
After one of their Saturday training sessions, the players set out to deliver more than 1,500 leaflets informing people about Ingleton's Save A Life defibrillator project.
The original aim was to purchase five defibrillators, which can be used by ordinary members of the public to resuscitate heart attack patients; but the householders and businesses responded so generously with their time, expertise and donations, the Save A Life committee was able to buy eight.
Local people are now being taught to use these at monthly training sessions, which can be booked through the Ingleton Community Centre.
The next take place on November 3 and December 10.
