MUCH-loved comedian Dave Spikey will be stopping off at Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre next Thursday (October 22, 8pm) as part of his 12-date autumn tour, Punchlines.

Tickets are selling fast for the show, which sees stand-up Dave on a journey to find out if a joke or humorous story can still be funny when you have been given the punchline first.

The show is described as "an irresistible mix of acute observational humour and the odd memory-jerking gag", all delivered with Dave's trademark warmth and humour.

The Bolton funny man once worked as chief biomedical scientist at the Royal Bolton Hospital and he began his career in comedy almost 25 years ago, supporting the likes of Jack Dee, Cannon & Ball and Eddie Izzard on the club circuit.

His writing partnership with fellow Boltonian Peter Kay is the stuff of legend, and actor and writer Dave went on to win the nation's hearts as cabaret artiste Jerry St Clair in the acclaimed TV comedy Phoenix Nights. He also became a regular on our screens at team captain alongside Jimmy Carr and Sean Lock on Channel 4’s popular panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats.
