MORE than 100 pink-clad bikers rode to Devil’s Bridge to take a motorcyclist killed in a crash in Settle on ‘one last ride’.

Bob Allaway, from Long Preston, died on the A65 on October 3 when his yellow Pioneer machine was in a head-on collision with a black Nissan Note car.

Since his death a fundraising campaign set up by Mr Allaway’s best friend Dax Hewitt has raised more than £5,000 to give him a ‘proper biker’s send-off’.

Friends and well-wishers paid for a biker’s hearse to take him on one last ride to the Kirkby Lonsdale beauty spot, where he was well-known, before escorting him to the funeral in Skipton on Wednesday.

To honour Mr Allaway’s wishes, Mr Hewitt was dressed in a Grim Reaper costume and the bikers donned pink in tribute to Mr Allaway’s many charity runs for Macmillan, which he often carried out in a Freddie Mercury costume and riding a pink motorbike.
