Tuesday 3rd November 2015. Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of Prime Sheep on Tuesday night when an entry 30210 sheep were forward consisting of 2,282 Prime Lambs and 728 Cast Ewes. Trade topped at £98.80 from two consigners.  Firstly a Beltex x lamb from Messrs Wills, Fawcett Park, Dufton which was purchased by Dowdings Butchers, Appleby then shortly after the same price was achieved again for another Beltex x lamb from Messrs Marston, Easegill Head, Kirkby Stephen with this lamb being secured by Steadmans Butchers, Kirkby Stephen.

Topping the lamb section per kilo at 225.10p were a pen of Beltex x lambs from Messrs Dodd, West View, which were bought by Vivers Scotlamb. Trade for well fleshed export through to heavy weighted lambs was stronger on the week once again

Tuesday 3rd November 2015. Middleton in Teesdale, Prize Show & Sale of Store Cattle & Sheep. Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held their Annual Prize Show& Sale of 170 Bullocks & Heifers along with the final seasonal sale of 500 Breeding Sheep and Store Lambs. A good attendance of purchasers ensured a brisk trade throughout.  Bullocks averaged £1.020.67 (+£12.51 on the year) and Heifers averaged £915.67 (+£15.39) Correct and broken mouthed Swaledale Ewes averaged £47.10 (-£5.66) and Swaledale gimmer lambs averaged £49.52 (-£6.98).

Monday, 2nd November. Cast and OTM Cows. Harrison & Hetherington held their fortnightly sale of cast & OTM cattle on Monday, where an entry of 60 head were forward. Topping the sale at 204.5p/kg (£1341.52) was a British Blue Cow from G & S Holdings, Stoneygarth, Little Asby, which was purchased by Mr David Barker. A good trade for all types was achieved once again for Cast & OTM Cattle at Kirkby Stephen, with the overall sale average being 108.92p/kg.

Monday, 2nd November. Annual Prize Show and Sale of Suckled Calves. Harrison & Hetherington held their annual Prize show and sale of Suckled calves on Monday where a catalogued entry of 580 were on offer.

Our Judge Mr Phillip Robson, Consett awarded the Championship to a seven month old British Blue Steer from Messrs KA Brown & Sons, Asby Hall, Appleby, which went on to top the sale at £1650 and was purchased by Mr David Barker.  The Reserve championship was awarded to the First prize Limousin Steer calf consigned by Messrs D & CE Marston, Easegill Head, Kirkby Stephen, this was five month old and sold for £1370 to Mr J Melling, Long Preston. Trade was exceptional throughout the sale, with Steers averaging £879.85 and heifers averaging £812.20
