I have recently been in Westmorland General Hospital at Kendal for a knee replacement.
The care I received was amazing, from the pre-op assessment right through to discharge. Every little detail was carefully explained and I was encouraged to ask about anything I was unsure of.
All the staff, from the cleaners, (which the nurses referred to as the 'unsung heroes'), to the porters, anaesthetists and surgeon Mr Nallapunieni treated me with cheerfulness, respect and dignity.
I was encouraged to drink as much as possible and never once had to ask for my water jug to be filled. Little things like this cost nothing but can make a lot of difference. The food was excellent and well presented.
No wonder I now refer to it at Westmorland General Holiday Camp.
Well done and many, many thanks.
