THE first Taste Cumbria Christmas festival is shaping up to draw in the crowds to Ulverston.

More than 30 stalls are booked for the event over the weekend of December 5 and 6, with dozens of town businesses joining in the festivities.

The Market Hall will be open on both days and there will be lots of entertainment and family activities to keep everyone happy.

Visitors will be able to pretend they have shrunk to a tiny size as they step into a giant snowglobe for the perfect festive photo opportunity. The globe will be located on New Market Street. The smallest members of the family can go and share their Christmas wishes with Santa in his grotto too. He will be in the Laurel and Hardy Museum in Brogden Street on Saturday and in the Market Hall on Sunday.

The Ulverston-based Bread and Butter Theatre Company will be bringing their very special brand of chaotic Christmas fun to the streets on both days too. There will also be carol singing and Christmas elves. Other entertainment will include the music stage on Market Square, with a host of performers.
