THE young and talented Pether String Trio return to the region on Friday, November 27, for a concert at Ambleside Parish Centre (2.30pm) arranged by the Patrons of Lake District Summer Music festival. The trio's programme includes the first performance in the area of Gideon Klein’s searing Trio 1944, written in a German concentration camp just two weeks before the composer's death at the age of 25. Works by Schubert, Bach and Beethoven also feature. Tickets on 01539-728471.
