THIEVES stole outdoor jackets worth a total of £10,000 from a store in Kirkby Stephen.

The burglary happened during the early hours of Monday November 23 at the Mad About Mountains Store on Market Street, where offenders stole a large quantity of women’s and men’s jackets.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity at the front of the premises on the night in question.

Detective Constable Ian Hodgson, of North Cumbria CID, said: “In particular we are appealing to anyone who is offered expensive outdoor jackets at a much cheaper rate than the normal retail price, especially in the run up to Christmas.”
