FIREFIGHTERS had to pump away water which had earlier closed a section of the A590.
At 10.20 crews were called to Lindal-in-Furness where a 100 square metre stretch of road was submerged in water.
Traffic was stopped in both directions on the A590 as firefighters and highways maintenance pumped water away.
