FINE art, screen prints, furniture, stone carved sculpture, porcelain tableware, glass, textiles and weaving will all be on show at the much awaited Christmas Open Studio event at The Factory in the cultural quarter of Kendal this weekend.

The dynamic collection of creative workspaces at the Castle Mills, Aynam Road site, will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, December 5-6, from 11am-5pm.

The Factory is home to an amazing array of artists such as outstanding glass maker, Jo Vincent; green wood chairmaker since 1987, Paul Girling, whose fine furniture is handmade from local coppice ash and oak; Hideyuki Sobue, whose painting and drawing skills have propelled him up into the top rankings of Cumbria's leading painters, and Danny Clahane, one the best sculptors around.

Also included will be an exhibition of outsider art on show in the Space2Create gallery. Additionally, the new Factory Tap will be open throughout the event, serving award-winning beers, brewed on site by Bowness Bay Brewing Co, fine wines selected by Frank Stainton and Farrers coffee.
