A GENEROUS joker is putting-on a comedy night to raise money for South Lakeland's flood victims, with a little help from his celebrity friends.

Mike Wilkinson, a Flookburgh based comedian, will be performing at Kendal Leisure Centre alongside old pals Dave Spikey and Jason Manford.

The show will take place on Monday, December 28, at 7.30pm.

The comedians are believed to be performing for free and all profits from the show, which includes an auction for prizes such as a £100 JulesB voucher and two tickets to a weekend performance at Manchester's Comedy Store, will go to flood victims.

Mike said: "I've known Jason since I first started out and he's been moderately more successful than me! I used to be the warm-up act on his tours. I know one or two people who have had their houses flooded, some with young families. They had water up to the living room ceiling and it's awful. You know when you live locally that it could have been you."

Tickets cost £25 and will be available on the Brewery Arts Centre's website.
