THE deadline is looming for South Lakeland people to say where they think new council ward boundaries should be drawn across the district.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England, which is carrying out an electoral review of South Lakeland, is asking local people for their views on new warding arrangements before it draws up its recommendations.
The deadline for submissions is January 11 and draft recommendations will be published by the commission next April.
Commission chairman Max Caller said: “We will consider every submission we receive from local people before we draw up draft recommendations. We will then open another phase of consultation on those proposals in April 2016."
Interactive maps of current ward boundaries can be viewed at www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk
Consultation responses should be sent to:
The Review Officer (South Lakeland)14th floor, Millbank Tower, London, SW1P 4QP. Or email reviews@lgbce.org.uk
