A TEENAGER has been given a conditional discharge for an attack outside a Spennymoor takeaway.
John Michael Raymond Bake, of Ullswater Close in the town, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court yesterday (December 22) for three offences committed more than one-and-a-half years ago.
Sarah Traynor, prosecuting, said the 19-year-old went into Pizza Time, in Cheapside, Spennymoor, in April last year where he kicked the window of the takeaway as he left, causing it to crack.
A passerby who stopped to help outside was hit to the floor by Bake, the court heard.
The defendant, who had been drinking, then kicked the wing mirror on a car outside The Grand Electric Hall.
Bake claimed he was pushed out of Pizza Time which made him angry.
He was found guilty of common assault on the passerby at trial and pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal damage and failing to surrender to court this month.
Bake was given a conditional discharge for two years and was ordered to pay a £40 fine, compensation of £100 to the assault victim, £342 to Pizza Time, £258 to the car owner and a £150 criminal court charge.
