A WOMAN was left "extremely shaken" after being confronted by a burglar in her County Durham home, say police.
Durham Police said a man carrying a knife entered the kitchen of the victim's house on Swainby Road, Trimdon Village, at about 6.15pm on New Year's Eve, December 31.
The man stole cash as he made off through the rear door of the property on Thursday.
Although the victim was not harmed, she was left extremely shaken.
The man was described by police as about 5ft 4ins to 5ft 6ins in height, of slim build and possibly in his mid to late teens.
Anyone with any information about the aggravated burglary is asked to call Durham Police on 101 and quote DHM-31122015-0326.
