THE price of bunting for decorating Carnforth's streets has been investigated by the town's chamber of trade, Carnforth town councillors heard.
Cllr Larry Branyan raised concerns that the town council could be committed to maintenance costs if it took part in the bunting project.
The town council's tourism committee agreed that if the chamber of trade wanted financial help, they could apply for a town council grant.
It was reported to the committee that the Chamber of Trade has investigated
the prices of bunting for use in the town. Cllr Branyan expressed his concern
that the Town Council could be committing itself to the ongoing costs of
maintaining bunting if it becomes involved in such a project.
It was suggested that Cllr Barbu speaks with the Chamber of Trade with a view
to the bunting being a project they may wish to carry out. If the Chamber of
Trade would like a financial contribution from the Town Council, they are free to
make an application via the grants and donations procedure.
