TWO veterinary equine departments are merging to form a specialised practice serving South Lakeland, north Lancashire and Craven.
From February 1, the Dalehead and Westmorland Veterinary Groups will merge their equine specialisms in a new company North West Equine Vets Ltd.
The administrative base of the practice will be in the village of Rathmell, near Settle, which also has an examination room, trot up area, outdoor arena and operating theatre. A smaller clinic area will be available at Kirkby Lonsdale for routine diagnostics and more minor surgical procedures.
With the formation of the new practice a team of eight experienced equine vets will cover the area from Ambleside and Windermere in the north to Poulton le Fylde in the South and Grassington and Keighley areas in the East.
Director Catherine Speakman said: "We will be hitting the ground running and are completely committed to providing a high standard of service to all our clients, old and new. "
