FOUR South Lakes branches of the national clothing chain Fat Face have boosted local good causes through a company charity initiative Thanks for Giving.
The firm's Kendal, Ambleside, Bowness-on-Windermere and Kirkby Lonsdale stores each donated £889 each to charities chosen by their local members of staff.
The Ambleside branch chose to support the Will Clark Fund, which was set up to support Grasmere man Will Clark who was paralysed from the neck down in a cycling accident in 2012.
The Bowness branch opted to hand their donation over to Bay Search and Rescue, which responds to call outs on the treacherous Morecambe Bay sands.
Kendal's funding boost will help support young carers in South Lakes.
And Kirkby Lonsdale's contribution will go to the Kirkby Lonsdale Arts Scene, which promotes community arts.
Meanwhile, the Fat Face store in Keswick, which took part in the same initiative, has handed its donation to Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.
