A SOUTH Lakeland teenager has raised £500 for mental health charity MIND by organising a sponsored walk from Cartmel to Bowness.
Xanthe-Rose Egglestone, 14, made the trek in memory of her aunt, who died a year ago as a result of depression.
The Cartmel Priory School student said: “I feel if my aunty could have got the help she needed and deserved then maybe she would still be here.
“MIND is a charity that will always be close to my heart. I want to prevent more people being in a situation like my aunty's because nobody should have to feel as she did.
“Not only did the event help a lot of people dealing with mental illnesses but it also made me feel a lot better knowing that I've helped those people.”
