AN air ambulance was earlier today called to assist a walker who had sustained a serious ankle injury while trekking in the Borrowdale valley.
The 62-year-old woman was injured on Castle Crag and was treated at the scene by members of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.

She was assessed by the crew from the Great North Air Ambulance before being flown to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, for treatment.
