WINDERMERE Golf Club’s Adam Chapman has been selected to join the England team defending the men’s title of the European Nations Championship.

Taking place at La Reserva Golf Club in Sotogrande, Spain, from February 24-27, the former Lakes School pupil will be joined by James Allan of Essex, Marco Penge of Sussex and Ashton Turner of Lincolnshire.

The event is contested over 72 holes of stroke play, with the best three cards each day counting.

An individual competition runs simultaneously with the Nations Championship.

England won last year for the sixth time, with a one-stroke victory. All four members of that team have since turned professional.

“We’re delighted that Adam has been selected to defend England’s title this month in Spain and will be supporting him wholeheartedly,” said Windermere club captain Cliff Heath.

“As a club, we are extremely proud of Adam and his achievements and will continue to support his ambitions.”
