This picture, taken by freelance writer and photographer Dave Wibberley, shows what happened when Gale Sike met Storm Henry high in the Pennines.

"The picture was taken in the Mallerstang Valley, south of Kirkby Stephen as Storm Henry was doing its worst," said Mr Wibberley, who lives near Barnard Castle. "It is of Gale Sike as it flows over Lindrigg Scars. From a distance the waterfall appeared to be smoke rising over the fell, but as I got closed it became evident that it was one (of several) waterfalls been ‘blown uphill’.
