A WINDERMERE man has organised a charity football match raising money for the North West Air Ambulance.
The match, which will take place at Morecambe FC's Globe Arena on Saturday May 21, will see a Kendal United team play against The Scough XI, a team led by event organiser James Davidson.
Mr Davidson is a recent sports science graduate from Myerscough College, and wanted to use his passion for football to do something for charity.
The 21-year-old said: "I've just moved back home and I love doing things with football.
"The air ambulance is something that has always been really close to me. Growing up in the Lake District you see them a lot, and I know that if I ever needed them they'd be there.
"I found out that they get no funding from the government and wanted to help them out."
So many people showed an interest in playing in the match that there were more volunteers than there were places on the team, said Mr Davidson.
Morecambe FC has given the teams full use of the pitch and the changing facilities, as well as access to the pitch-side bar for an awards ceremony and refreshments after the game.
Kick-off will be at 1pm and tickets cost £5, including entry into a half time raffle.
All proceeds will go to charity.
