TRANSPORT is the theme of the Ingleton 1940s weekend which will take place over the weekend July 1 to 3.

Vintage vehicle enthusiasts are being invited to bring along their classic modes of transport with organisers hoping for 'a huge turnout.'

Event chairman Tim Goundry said: "Exciting means of transportation already confirmed include a Battle of Britain memorial flypast, a parachute display by the Royal Logistic Corps Silver Stars, a replica spitfire on display and a visit from the Thwaites Dray and beautiful shires.

"So now we are turning our attention to vintage vehicles to join our parade and displays around the village throughout the weekend and we need as many people as possible to get in touch.

"Are you the proud owner of a classic car, mature motorbike or time-honoured tractor, truck or tricycle from the 1940’s era? Then the committee want you to showcase it at the event."

There is no charge to enter vehicles in the parade and discounts on camping locally are available for participants.
