A MAN accused of stealing more than £10,000 from the Forestry Commission will go on trial later this year.
Harvey William Davidson, 29, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today.
During a brief hearing before Judge Peter Hughes QC he pleaded not guilty to one count of theft.
MORE TOP STORIES: It is alleged that Davidson stole £10,412.05 in cash belonging to the Forestry Commission between October, 2013, and June the following year.
He is accused of taking the money from car park machines in the Whinlatter and Grizedale forest park areas.
Davidson, who was represented by defence lawyer Alison Whalley, is due to stand trial at the crown court in the week of August 8.
In the meantime Judge Hughes remanded Davidson, of Portland Square, Workington, on unconditional bail.
