A CATAMARAN designed for people with disabilities launched in Windermere last Thursday (April 28).
Despite adverse weather conditions, The Calvert Trust's Equal Chance catamaran took its first trip of the year at Low Wood Bay.
The boat, which enjoys corporate sponsorship from Progressions Solicitors, has been specially adapted for local people with disabilities
Director of Progression Solicitors, Anthony Smith, said: "It’s fantastic to support such a unique vessel knowing that it enables people with disabilities to have an opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities that would not otherwise be accessible to them in the magnificent setting of the Lakes."
Calvert Trust is well known for their work in the local area, enabling more than 3,000 people with disabilities to take part in outdoor activities and adventures in the Lakes every year.
Members of Progression Solicitors and The Calvert Trust were joined by local businessmen and women who braved the inclement weather to watch the sail go up.
