A DOG which supports children with learning and behavioural difficulties is itching to start working in the Lake District after moving from London, according to his owner.
Google, a golden retriever, is a demonstration assistance dog with experience of working with children of all ages. Some have challenging behaviour and others have experienced bullying or bereavement, but find new confidence and motivation in developing skills with Google.
Owner Sandy Childs has moved to Coniston from London, but is looking forward to getting Google into the community.
“Google the reading dog is nine, and he is the ambassador and demonstration dog for the charity Dog AID (assistance in disability)," said Mrs Childs.
“The charity will help and support a disabled person to train their own pet to become an assistance dog.
“Google is enjoying his semi-retirement in the Lake District, although he has a new job of meeting and greeting the guests at Wheelgate B&B in Little Arrow and Coniston Cottages where he now lives.
Any organisation or group, young or old, who would enjoy a visit from Google can contact Sandy on 07979422081.
