KENDAL Town Football Club are open to applications to fill a new role as head coach at the club to replace this season's joint managers Gary Fawcett and Dave Foster.

Although no decisions have been made as of yet for what role those two will take, it is believed within the club that having a head coach at the helm will give the Mintcakes a better direction for next season.

Kendal Chairman George Gudgeon says the appointment will come as part of an overhaul at the club.

He said: "It's a restructuring, Gary will take on another role and we are in discussions with the rest.

"It's just the way we have decided to take the club.

"The deadline for applications is the 8th of May and then obviously we will interview people accordingly, sit down, and make the right decision."

On the advert on the club's website, the club is appealing for a "hardworking, ambitious and dedicated head coach, with a thorough knowledge of the Evo-Stik Northern First Division and the leagues which feed it, and should have a track record of success of being a head coach or a manager at this level".

The Mintcakes finished last season in 15th in the First Division North and are hoping for a stronger outing next year.
